Description

A Kforce client has a need for a Staff Engineer that focuses on payments for a financial institution. This position is contract-to-hire and ideal candidate will sit in San Antonio, TX, with Austin being the furthest metro area considered. The position is primarily remote within office visits as project requires. Day-to-Day responsibilities include:

• Work within an existing payments portfolio
• Address production and customer-impacting issues
• Provide technical guidance on new features
• Ensure code quality and security
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot

Requirements

• 10+ years of overall experience
• Minimum 3 years as a technical lead providing solutions and guidance
• Background in the payments industry
• Strong communication skills

Top Technical Skills:

• Full-stack Java development
• Familiarity with Microservices, streaming architecture, APIs, and backend databases

Certifications (Preferred):

• Prompt engineering
• Microsoft services
• Full-stack Java

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
